Hogsmeade Weekend Themes & Evolution History

hogsmeadewkends was attached to hogwartshouses before HiH took over. Hogsmeade appears to have occurred monthly for that comm as well from July 2004 to October 2004. The weekends associated with hogwartshouses are not counted in the statistics at the end because they were before our Term I.

Term I: (Nov 2004 - Feb 2005) 3 Unthemed Weekends

Term II: (Mar 2005 - Jul 2005) 4 Unthemed Weekends (This was the 1 year anniversary of Hogsmeade Weekends & Hogsmeade was monthly)
Term III: (Aug 2005 to Dec 2005) Triwizard Tournament (Hogsmeade was open to visitors from affiliates) & 1 Unthemed Weekend. (But Flourish joined Hogsmeade here.)& Guy Fawkes Hogsmeade Weekend
Term IV: Valentine’s Weekend
Term V: No Clear Theme
Term VI: No Clear Theme
Term VII: Valentine’s Weekend
Term VIII: No clear themes

Before this point, Hogsmeade was fewer activities and more social posts/discussions in general. Take a peak.

Also, from Term IV to VII, it appears there was only 1 hogsmeade weekend a term.

Term IX: Holiday Weekend (& it appears there was only 1 weekend this term, though there were 2 the previous)

Before this point, social posts were not open to all members and there was no position called “Social Director”.

Term X: Valentine’s Weekend & No clear theme other than HOGSMEADE
Term XI: Mid-Summer Night’s Dream & General Summer Things (Olympics, Movies, etc. 2008.)
Term XII: Halloween & Holiday/Christmas

Before this point, themes were definitely much much looser, and an overarching primary theme of ZOMG HOGSMEADE reigned. (With the exception of the Term X Valentine’s Day Weekend)

In 2008, SQ used to held drabble contests. The gift exchange as we know it didn’t appear to exist, even in a writer’s block form. Activity counts were at most half of what we have now (where now = Term XXVII), SPEW hadn’t become MoM yet, most activities were contests, The 3 Broomsticks was not just a friending meme, Sorted Challenge sometimes hosted an activity as did hih_insomniac (R.I.P.), quidditch abounded (also R.I.P.), and Scrivenshaft’s Quill Shop existed (though it is unclear to me whether this was a product of hogsmeadewkends, a club, or something else altogether) as did Honeyduke’s Sweets Shop (same speculation; no, this is not referring to the lovely erzsebet’s/Liz’s flourish shop of deliciousness.) Same goes for The Shrieking Shack & The Hog’s Head, Zonko’s Joke Shop, The Great Hall, Hogsmeade Station, The Street Peddler of Diagon Alley (though diagon alley was a comm @ hh_diagon), etc (Any older member able to confirm my hunch that maybe the corresponded with the Shops in the System more closely? Or explain further? I’m so curious XD). It also appears that hh_order more routinely ran activities at hogsmeade. ^_^

And this one time in 2008, there was an interhouse scavenger hunt social director post. Man, that looks like it was fun!
